My husband and I (with our two little dogs) stayed at the cottage over Thanksgiving this year. We had never rented a VRBO and drove to Bisbee with some trepidation as to what we would find. Although we love Bisbee, we know the homes are quite old, so I tried to do my homework to find a place with a little yard for the pups and enough room to be comfortable. Well, we were thrilled. The house was clean as a whistle (big issue for us) and so well appointed. I used the kitchen quite a bit and found everything you could possibly need to whip up a meal. The beds were super comfy and the bath had plenty of room for toiletries and such. All electronics (TV, stereo, DVD) worked great and there was even a charger for all our phones/iPads, etc. Very well appointed and maintained. It must be fabulous in the warmer weather to sit outside in the patio or leave the doors open for a breeze. While it was a very busy weekend for Bisbee, we had no trouble parking by the house and was close enough to all the shops/restaurants to walk. The yard was perfect for our furry kids to snoop around and check things out. So much better than a hotel where you have to be presentable to take the dogs out. Plus, they didn’t have to be on a leash the whole time. Becky (the owner) was a dream to work with and provided a fantastic list of not only what to bring/not to bring, but things to do in the area. The cottage is as advertised and there were no disappointments or surprises for us. I told her I was hesitant to write a good review as we didn’t want folks to take “our spot.” But, in the spirit of good karma, I have to share that it is a lovely, cozy getaway in the middle of town. And we will definitely be back. ENJOY!
Clean, convenient and charming, with everything you need. Great location, within walking distance of the best of Bisbee.
My wife and I very much enjoyed the stay at Toland Adobe house. And the Bisbee vibe is very fun. We loved the setup of the home, and the character of the home. Very well furnished, we made breakfast each day. And getting to take our dogs along was especially fun. They enjoyed the trip too. Would defiantly stay here again if available.
My wife and I stayed here with our 2 grand kids and little dog. It was great. The completely fenced courtyard enables the dog to go inside and out at will. The kitchen and laundry facilities are excellent. It’s located centrally allowing you to walk to everything in Bisbee. Becky is a very thoughtful and caring renter. She’ll check in with you to make sure all is well. There are two VRBO Bisbee units with “Adobe” in their name. They are both very nice, however we prefer this one as it is more spacious, is all on the ground level and has the courtyard.
This was our first trip to Bisbee. We could not have asked for better accommodations. The house has so much charm. Our family of five was very comfortable. We have stayed in VRBO homes across the country and this was by far the best equipped. Everything is of high quality. We have stayed in homes furnished, I am sure, from garage sales, but not this one. The bedding, dishes, etc. were all of great quality. There were plenty of spices to choose from and various other groceries. The emergency coffee supplies were very thoughtful even though we did not need it. The entertainment options were much appreciated. The house was incredibly clean. I was surprised how quiet the neighborhood was. My teenage children loved running all over town and I felt safe letting them. The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. I hope we make it back to this little gem in the near future.
We loved staying here. You can tell that a lot of thought and care went into making the house and yard convenient and charming. Its furnished with everything you might possibly need. Its a short walk downtown. The furnishings are good quality and everything was very clean. I would highly recommend staying here. It was perfect.
This home is perfectly located in the historic section of Bisbee. Literally steps from shopping and the Copper Queen, and about a 10 minute walk to the Queen Mine tour, everything historic and nostalgic was close by. We parked our car nearby and didn’t get back in until we had to go home. The check in/check out process is so simple! It was a hot weekend and although you don’t think you would need air conditioning, we did, and the house was cool and comfortable the whole time. If I had to change anything I would change the shower as the old fashioned tub and wrap around shower curtain made it a little awkward, but doable! We would definitely stay again!
We visited Bisbee as a family celebrating our daughter’s 30th birthday, and bringing our two little grandchildren. This home is a wonderful spot. We could leave our cars parked, and walk to everything around the town. The home is comfortably decorated, and everything you need is there. They have a welcoming back porch and yard area where you can sit and relax. The sign in the kitchen simply says it all. “Good food, good friends, good times.”
We have been to Bisbee many times but this trip was so wonderful because of you and your wonderful home. Becky, you are by far the most accommodating owners we have ever dealt with in our annual vacation rental experience. Our trips are important to us and it seemed important to you, too. Nice personal touch. We enjoyed the antique shops. Lunch at the Cafe Cornucopia was excellent. The history and charm of your home allowed us to feel comfortable, rest, relax, and enjoy! Also, bed was soooo comfy!
We’re back! We stayed in your comfortable house last year for the annual stair climb and we’re thrilled to come again. Location is perfect! We ate at both the Screaming Banshee and Santiagos. Loved both and would recommend to any newcomers to Bisbee. Looking forward to our 2015 return and Bisbee 1000 stair climb!
We took our two dogs with us to stay in this cottage. It is without a doubt the cleanest place we have even stayed and we have rented a lot. One particularly memorable place was filled with broken stuff – the phone, the shower etc. This place has everything in perfect working order, lots of hot water, good water pressure, quality cook ware, (NOT a dented pan left over at the end of a yard sale), sharp knives, good stove, oven, coffee maker and dishwasher. There is even a wall mirror to check the back of your hair!! Plenty of cabinet space and flat space in the bathroom so you don’t have to try and hold your make up and comb and curling iron while trying to get ready in the morning. A working electric outlet in the bathroom! The bed is super comfortable, pillows and covers fresh and pretty. Our dogs (the girls) loved the yard and front patio. There are three kinds of pine trees in the front yard, which was a lovely surprise. The yard is super secure, if there was a way out, the girls would have found it. So we were able to let them play in the yard while we watched TV or read and didn’t have to watch them every second. We never left them alone so I can’t speak to that, but they played in the yard and flower beds and porch and just had a doggie blast. There are a LOT of books and movies, all in good shape like everything else. The furniture is also high quality comfortable stuff like you would have in your home, not the beat up smelly wrecks you sometimes get in rentals. The fridge is full sized, there are far more dishes and silverware than you will ever need, (I even found a potato masher – NOBODY has a potato masher in a rental). There is an extensive collection of spices, as well as some of the basics – sugar, flour, tea, which we did not expect. Another nice surprise. Out in the yard, we saw several types of hummingbirds. This cottage is owned by people who care about their customers. Very quiet, very safe, very nice. I would feel comfortable staying there alone. I am on disability and need wide flat stairs and some handholds and had them all. We have our reservations for our next visit.
This was my second winter in Bisbee and my 3rd rental. Bisbee has all the charms of an Italian hill town and then some, including all of the steps. After renting the place sight-unseen,with the exception of the photos on the webpage, I was pleasantly surprised a wonderfully private 2 bedroom home with everything you could ask for. A Bisbee Vacation Rental is on a flat lot located in the center of town with ample parking right outside the front gate (a rare thing in Bisbee). The art galleries and entertainment on main st. are just 200 yards away in one direction and Brewery Gulch and its attractions (Arizona’s oldest bar, St Elmos and Arizona’s smallest bar, the Silver King) are only 200 yards in another direction . With 2 gourmet food stores the same distances from the house it was possible to not drive my car for a week at a time. After falling in love with the Queen of Bisbee and the area itself I plan on relocating here permanently and renting this gorgeous place again when the relatives show up for a visit.
Very comfortable house, quirky/interesting town, great location for wandering out and about. Locally would recommend the museum, and just strolling. Lots of interesting things to see, very friendly place. Loved the Copper Queen Hotel. Further afield, Tombstone was fine. Only here for a few days, would like to return for longer and explore further. We really enjoyed the whole experience. I would recommend Arizona as a destination and Bisbee was a delight. Would like to have spent longer in the area but maybe another time. Thanks again for renting your delightful house. It was a pleasure to holiday in.
When returning to Bisbee for our 3rd annual Bisbee 1000 stair climb, we knew we wanted a house within walking distance of downtown, and we found it! This adorable house has all the comforts of home and was the perfect location for our stay. The private patio provided a relaxing spot to unwind after the race. We cooked several meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and the house was extremely clean and well-maintained. We’ve already booked our stay for next year’s race. Thank you for your hospitality! Looking forward to October 2014!
We had such a great experience in Bisbee. The house is so charming and well maintained. It has everything you would need. We parked our car upon arrival and walked everywhere the whole weekend. The location is PERFECT! We brought our two doggies and they were welcome just about everywhere we went. The owner is great to work with too. Great fun! We would stay there again for sure.
We spent a perfectly enjoyable week in Bisbee, exploring. Visited the museum, toured the Copper Queen mine, visited Tombstone and Kartchner Caverns. Did we mention the weather is “perfect” in Bisbee? Enjoyed exploring our family history. During WWII, my father was a Penn. coal miner who was drafted into the U. S. Army, sent to boot camp, and spent the years during WWII mining copper in Bisbee for the war effort. My mother traveled several days by bus, and they were married at the courthouse when she arrived. Fun visit in a lovely town.
As adorable as Old Bisbee itself, this charming cottage offers the works. Fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, good quality pots, pans and sharp knives. Comfy furniture within an open-style floor plan with hardwood flooring and Saltillo tile. The fenced in courtyard offers both safety and privacy for kids and dogs alike. The owner provides detailed instructions including door-to-door travel directions, as well as tips and suggestions bound in a large red notebook to make your stay a grand success. Walk to Main Street, shop, eat and drink–then walk it all off in the Bisbee hills. The cottage is a home away from home, clean, quiet and calming. After my 7 week stay, I am eager to return!
